From Workshop to Doorstep

In 2019 I spent three weeks traveling through northern Thailand and kept buying things I couldn't stop using once I got home — a teak board that never warped, a basket woven so tightly it held rice without a liner. Back home, the only versions I could find were either flimsy imports at a big-box store or boutique pieces marked up 400% for the same craftsmanship.

So we started buying directly from the same workshops, the ones we'd actually visited, and cut out the importers and distributors who normally sit in between. Every piece is still inspected by hand before it ships, and we keep our margins honest so the price reflects the work, not a markup chain nobody can see.

We still fly out to the workshops twice a year, meet the makers, and check the next batch ourselves before it ever reaches a warehouse. That part hasn't changed, and it isn't going to.
